About Us
Rutte has a long-standing tradition, with recipes passed down from generation to generation. While the industry sought cheaper methods and ingredients in the previous century, the Rutte family preserved their craftsmanship and old recipes.
Even though the distillery has not been family-owned since the 1990s, the tradition continues. Rutte still distills in the same unique way as Simon Rutte did, honoring centuries of expertise.
Flavor Development
Rutte’s principles have remained consistent and are unique in the Netherlands.
No Artificial Colors or Flavors
All flavors are naturally extracted from fruit, herbs, and spices.
100% Natural
No additives to enhance appearance or taste – real almonds, natural red from cherries and berries, coffee liqueur that actually tastes like coffee!
Grain-Based Distilling
Gins and liqueurs are distilled from pure grain alcohol; jenevers use a blend of malt wine and grain alcohol. Malt wine has a strong grain flavor, while grain alcohol is neutral and exceptionally smooth.
Only the Best Ingredients
Rutte selects the finest natural ingredients: premium cinnamon from Sri Lanka, juniper berries with Italian sun aromas, and fresh fruit that is hand-peeled and never frozen.
